Getting Married In Manitoba…

• Buy the Marriage Licence at least twenty – four (24) hours before the ceremony.
• Your Licence is valid only in Manitoba for  three (3) months from the  date of purchase.
• Both (together) present with identification to a registered licence issuer.
• Provide proof of age (18 years or older) and eligibility to be married.
• Cost for licence $100.00

Acceptable documents for identification can be one of the following:

• Birth Certificate
• Passport (Current or Expired)
• Citizenship Certificate (Canadian or United States)
• Baptismal Certificate
• US Alien Card
• Canada Immigration documents
• Government of Canada Indian Status Card
• Canadian Armed Forces Identification Card
• Firearms Card

Or a Driver’s Licence (photo ID) with one of the following:

• Manitoba Health Card
• Senior Citizen Card
• Change of Name Certificate
• Employee Card (with birth date)
• Social Insurance Card
• Certificate of Divorce

In the case of a Widow/Widower we must view a Death Certificate.
